Spot the deliberate mistake. Steve takes the earphone *out*, and the music gets... quieter. Like the video soundtrack is the combined amount of music heard by both Steve and Matt, so when one earphone is removed by Steve, the total volume drops by half. It makes NO SENSE...
... but it seems to, when you watch it. It's weird that it's not weird.
